The historic Westland Shopping Center, located at 9812 Camp Bowie West, has become beloved by millions, thanks to Taylor Sheridan’s Landman series. It is the set of the fictitious Patch Café. Fort Worthians have been fascinated when film crews and cast members are swarming around the site during filming. The owners of the same strip building plan to open a new neighborhood eatery this summer. Here’s all we know about Rosebuds Picnic Supply.
The Westland Shopping Center was built in the mid-1950s. It has been owned by three generations of the Murrin family. Its caretakers have included Stephen Murrin Sr., his son Steve “Cowboy” Murrin, and now his grandson Philip Murrin.
They also own the River Ranch event venue in the Stockyards. Plus, the historic building that houses Lucille’s Stateside Bistro further down Camp Bowie.
What’s in Store at Rosebuds Picnic Supply
Texas Brisket Chile will be on the menu at Rosebuds Picnic Supply.
At Rosebuds Picnic Supply, you’ll find a collection of “picnic classics, from fried chicken and fresh sandwiches to seasonal soups and salads, along with traditional Texas sweets and ice cream made for slowing down and enjoying the moment,” according to the website.
“The same family that brought you River Ranch Stockyards is back, this time with something a little sweeter, they say in a recent Facebook post. “Rosebuds Picnic Supply is a neighborhood café rooted in the same love for this city, this community, and really, really good food. Think fresh sandwiches, homemade soups, crisp salads, and desserts worth saving room for, served in a space that feels like home.”
While the menu has not been released, their social feed touts deviled eggs, a spinach salad with red onion and strawberries, a ham and cheese, and a chicken salad sandwich. There will be crispy fried chicken, mustard-dressed potato salad, Texas brisket chili, and homemade ice creams.
Rosebuds Picnic Supply Adds To Westland Renaissance

Once a sleepy stretch of Camp Bowie West, Westland has seen a resurgence, thanks to its proximity to so much development in West Fort Worth. Residential developments, including luxury neighborhoods like Montserrat and Montrachet, plus Maverick Golf & Ranch Club, which is currently under construction nearby.
Now, the forgotten and weathered Westland neighborhood is seeing new growth and life. The quaintness of the area cannot be understated. And, its neighbor, Westland Hospitality Group (which just acquired the historic Roy Pope Grocery), has proven the location’s appeal. They boast packed parking lots and regular waitlists at their JD’s Hamburgers and Margie’s Italian Gardens, just across the street.
Rosebuds Picnic Supply will soon add a new spot to sit and soak on Fort Worth’s far Westside. Or to stop in and to pack a convenient picnic to go.
The space will have a patio with picnic tables, a grab-and-go case, a retractable garage door, and plenty of branded merch, including hats and t-shirts. Signage is already installed, and Rosebuds Picnic Supply is set to open this summer.
