One of the hippest new boutique hotels in North Texas is opening on June 1 in Arlington. With four on-site dining options, a fab poolside aesthetic, and all the modern amenities, this is the newest opening by boutique-masters Valencia Hotel Group. Positioned in the dynamic and ever-expanding Arlington Entertainment District, meet the Caravan Court Hotel.

The arrival of the new Caravan Court Hotel highlights a growing trend in travel. Guests are looking for unique experiences these days, and Caravan Court stands ready to dish up a heavy dose of retro-inspired charm. The 1960s and Rat Pack era are definitely having a moment. With 143 guest rooms, Caravan Court is set to become Arlington’s premier boutique hotel. And, it will arrive just in time for World Cup mania.

With Arlington’s Entertainment District on fire, Loew’s Hotels & Co. has made a major investment and positioned itself with large venues like its Live! by Loews, which arrived first in 2019 and was built for sports fans. The company opened its Loews Hotel Arlington next door just two and a half years ago. And the recently announced Americana by Loews will open in 2029.

Once complete, the entire Loew’s campus will boast a total of 1,695 guest rooms in all and more than 374,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. Loew’s has accentuated Arlington’s need for large-scale event venues. Caravan Court Hotel, on the other hand, will attract a whole new audience. The boutique hotel will express Arlington’s cool side.

The Caravan Court Hotel redevelopment project is a partnership between Valencia Hotel Group, Division Hotel Management, LLC, and the City of Arlington.

“Caravan Court is so incredibly important – it is the thing that brings together our Entertainment District and downtown area,” according to Arlington mayor Jim Ross. He said in a press release that the project “provides a catalyst for a lot of the transformation that you’re seeing down Division Street and Abram Street, and the changes you will see happening in the future.”

The redesign of the former Caravan Motor Hotel is located on the southeast corner of Collins and Division Streets. The project pays homage to Arlington’s history and its place on the former Bankhead Highway. Now guests will see that the iconic Caravan sign has been restored, its palm trees still swaying. The boutique hotel features a retro-style motor court theme, combining luxury detailing with a mid-century aesthetic.

Houston-based Valencia Hotel Group has made its mark with a collection of seven independent hotels and unique destinations. Most are in Texas, with one in San Jose, California. Arlington’s Caravan Court will be Valencia’s eighth such boutique property, and its upcoming Tempo by Hilton Tucson Uptown will be completed in 2027.

BOKAPowell Architects has worked with Valencia Hotel Group before. They worked together on the Texican Court Hotel in Irving as well. That project was completed in 2019. BOKAPowell and its 8080 Studio are well-known for their hospitality work, which includes Bowie House by Auberge, which arrived in 2024, as well as this newest Caravan Court redevelopment project.

“At Caravan Court, guests are immersed in spaces that evoke the elegance of Mid-Century design, drawing inspiration from 1960s art, architecture, and automotive aesthetics,” according to BOKAPowell’s site. “Our design captures the picturesque landscapes of the Great Southwest’s open roads, combined with the warmth of classic American motel hospitality.”

Room amenities include SMEG refrigerators, Nespresso coffee makers, an executive work station with charging pads, and luxury bath products by Lather. A stay at the hotel includes a complimentary beverage at check-in, an outdoor swimming pool with cabana rentals, and complementary shuttle to the entertainment district on select dates.

Inside Caravan Courts Nostalgic Design

There are four on-site dining options at Caravan Court. The Vandy is the main dining venue, including outdoor patio seating. It serves three meals with modern American fare and global notes on the menu.

Valencia says, “The design is grounded and warm, with natural textures, easy proportions, and a layout that defines the mood without competing for attention.”

Taking in the views from Elora Sky Club means city lights, fire pits, and sweeping views. It includes a moody indoor lounge with an open-air terrace. The Caravan Swim Club is a perfect poolside moment, open during pool hours. Finally, the Idle Hour Social Club serves those in search of low-light and well-made martinis in the evening. By day, it’s a quaint coffee bar ideal for quiet focus.

The historic Caravan Motor Hotel was originally opened in 1961. And its retro palm tree signage has been restored, announcing the landmark’s transformation into the Caravan Court Hotel. Guests are greeted by a grand porte-cochere upon arrival. It is capped by a stunning accordion-shaped roofline beyond. The entrance is flanked by period-perfect, decorative breeze block walls.
