July brings plenty of sizzling food news in Fort Worth. From the arrival of Seared with its Prix Fixe menu and endless fries, to Keller’s next sensation ― a massive Chinese steakhouse concept underway in Old Town, there’s a lot of great news. Perhaps nothing is more welcome than the return of Tommy’s Hamburgers on Camp Bowie. Here is all the Fort Worth food news you need to know this July.

Seared Adds a Sizzle to the River District

The newest steakhouse in town will open on July 1 after a lengthy update to the space that once housed Pearl Snap Kolaches. Located at 4006 White Settlement Road, the space was also the scene of a freak car accident in February of 2025. After the kolache shop closed, a car lost control and plowed through the front. The reboot began with demolition over a year ago, in May of 2025.

Seared is the brainchild of industry veterans Chris Jordan (who also owns the Rabbit Hole and Mad Hatter Pub), along with Bailey Batts, Kristen Peaks Thomas, and Jywon Young. Chef Joshua Donovan is at the helm. He featured endless creativity during his time at the former Heirloom Café at Archie’s Gardenland.

They say that Seared is “a bold new take on the classic steakhouse, featuring a prix fixe menu, high-end cocktails, decadent desserts, and a soon-to-be legendary brunch.”

According to the site, “Our prix fixe format removes the noise. You’re not navigating a long menu or second-guessing your order. You know exactly what you’re getting…and you know you won’t leave hungry.”

Each meal begins with a New York strip steak, seared mini romaine salad, and fresh bread. Then you can add filet and Tomahawk steaks, plus seasonal sides, cocktails, and desserts. Oh, and don’t forget the endless French fries. Reservations are now available on Tock.

Tommy’s Hamburgers on Camp Bowie Returns

The legendary hamburger shop suffered a kitchen fire in May of 2025 at 5228 Camp Bowie Boulevard. The first location of Tommy’s Hamburgers has been in rebuilding mode ever since. Owner Kelly Smith is ready to welcome guests soon, with an anticipated late June opening.

The results are dramatic. You might call it a hamburger palace now. The Camp Bowie glow-up makes it fresh as a daisy with upcycled and new furniture, including a swanky U-shaped banquette, and a granite-topped counter with ample stool seating. It has fresh décor, nostalgic nods, and just enough taxidermy to keep it casual.

The Fort Worth favorite since 1983 began in a Lake Worth Texaco station. There are two additional spots, one along Forest Park, and one in a satellite to Ridgmar Mall. West side residents can’t wait to get theirs back online.

Hops Will Bring Something Unexpected to Keller

The City of Keller just announced something big is on the way. “The team behind one of Keller foodies’ favorite restaurants is bringing a new elevated dining concept to Old Town Keller,” they said in a recent post.

“Hops — a modern Chinese steakhouse breaking ground soon at 200 Keller Pkwy. — will offer the same creative energy, warm hospitality, and upscale ambiance as its sister restaurant, Hush. Owners and Keller residents Tommy and Donny Wu say their second concept at the northern end of South Elm Street will feature a multi-room experience designed around distinct dining and social spaces across more than 7,000 square feet.”

Here’s what’s in store for the vast restaurant. Hops will feature a “full bar, a bright sunroom featuring panoramic sliding-glass walls that bring the outdoors in without sacrificing climate-controlled comfort, and a third private space envisioned as a speakeasy-style lounge. That space will feature its own bar, a separate drink menu, and dedicated hours, creating a more intimate, late-night-focused experience.”

Hush has already elevated the sushi and Japanese whisky game in Keller. Next, they’ll add a Chinese steakhouse concept with Hops. Construction begins in early August, with an anticipated opening in summer 2027.

Souffle Bistro & Bar Now Open in Arlington

Located at 6407 South Cooper Street, Suite 101, the new Souffle Bistro & Bar serves up modern Southern cuisine. “From crispy fried green tomatoes and rich seafood dips to bold entrées like Cajun shrimp and grits, blackened salmon, and hot honey chicken, every dish is rooted in Southern-inspired comfort with a modern twist,” according to the website.

“Think red velvet waffle towers, peach cobbler French toast, and our signature chicken & waffle combinations,” they say.

While many dishes are familiar, they all have a modern flourish. For instance, there is a whole fried red snapper plated as if it’s swimming through sweet chili glaze, and honey jerk BBQ lollipop lamb chops arranged atop collard greens and sweet potato soufflé.

The brunch menu affords fried green tomatoes, some crazy coated waffle popsicle creations, like one dipped in Fruity Pebbles, and a decadent crab cake Benedict. Soulful side dishes include candied yams, black-eyed peas, or collard greens with smoked turkey, honey butter cornbread, or sweet potato soufflé.

The modern dining room is fresh with lime green banquettes and cozy seating. The floor is a bold herringbone design. The walls are a marble-looking ceramic, with bold lighting and a sexy long bar awaiting your arrival.

Phoenix Pho Lands in Alliance

The soft opening of Phoenix Pho began on June 21. This is “where Pho meets coffee,” they say. “Authentic Vietnamese flavors, slow-simmered broth, and Vietnamese coffee brewed the traditional way.”

Along with steaming brothy bowls of fresh pho noodles, they serve specialties like shaken beef rice and cold vermicelli noodle bowls. It’s serious Vietnamese in the Alliance corridor. They also serve some masterful and very colorful layered matcha and coffee drinks.

While the new Alliance location is more of a noodle and coffee bar, Phoenix Pho has another location in Abilene focused on Vietnamese cuisine and Boba tea.
