The Academy Awards Ceremony takes place on March 15. While it’s tempting to watch the festivities from your couch, why not join Fort Worth’s film community instead? The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is hosting the city’s premier celebration of cinema ― all about Awards Night at The Modern.

The evening is presented by The Reel House Foundation and sponsored by the Fort Worth Film Commission, Lone Star Film Festival, and The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The Reel House Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a love for film in Fort Worth.

“This event transforms the museum into a hub of high-fashion and high-definition viewing,” they say.

Doors open at 5:30 pm on March 15, ahead of the ceremony viewing, which begins at 6 pm. The evening’s dress code ranges from Red Carpet Glamour to Red Carpet Comfort. So, you can choose to come as a movie star or a director.

“Guests will experience the awards ceremony broadcast live in the Modern’s iconic, state-of-the-art theater,” according to a release. “Between the winning speeches, the evening offers a blend of interactive fun and cinematic style.”

Take part in the red carpet experience. Step in front of the lens with professional photography and strike a pose with a real film statuette.

Not a member of The Academy? You can still cast your ballot for who you think will take home the golden statue. Here, your vote gives you a chance to win prizes, including tickets to the Lone Star Film Festival, Dallas International Film Festival, and the Asian Film Festival of Dallas. Local filmmakers can also win a studio day at BLANC Studios.

The evening will include live commentary. Engaging in conversation and insights during commercial breaks to keep the energy high. And, a premium cash bar with curated snacks will be available in the Modern’s stunning lobby.

Hometown Causes Gain Greater Access to Film

“This isn’t just a watch party,” say event organizers. “It’s a moment for Fort Worth’s film community to come together, celebrate the art of storytelling, and look good doing it.”

While the evening is about glitz and glamour, the impact is strictly local, they say. Your suggested $25 donation for admission directly supports The Reel House Foundation’s mission to provide free family film screenings for underserved Fort Worth youth throughout 2026.

“Through partnerships with ACH Child and Family Services, Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and The WARM Place, the foundation ensures cinema is accessible to children and families who might not otherwise have the opportunity.”

In the spirit of community, the foundation maintains an “all-access” policy: no one will be turned away for an inability to donate, though an RSVP is required to secure a seat.
