Fort Worth Digital Diary can confirm that an extended scene from Landman, Season 2, Episode 3 was filmed on the basement level of the newly revamped Cattlemen’s Steakhouse. Here’s more about the exclusive Cattlemen’s Club and the rest of the new and improved dining experience, with its brand-new patio, at the historic steakhouse.

Andy Garcia got cozy with Demi Moore and Billy Bob Thornton at the Taylor Sheridan-owned Stockyard’s steakhouse for filming. The private club in Landman was filmed in the Cattlemen’s Club, which is about to debut to its members.

On a recent visit to Cattlemen’s, the manager took us on a quick tour of the lower-level Cattlemen’s Club. But no photos were allowed. Now we know why. Sheridan was waiting for the big reveal to splash on the small screen.

Taylor Sheridan took over the legendary steakhouse (circa 1947) that has held sway along North Main Street, near the corner of Exchange Avenue. Along with his partners, David Glasser and Dan Schryer, they have upgraded the layout immensely. Even adding a spacious patio where Cattlemen’s side parking lot once sat.

Landman fans got the first peek at the newly added Cattlemen’s Club ― down a flight of stairs near the entrance. In an earlier release, they said the exclusive new club will also be accessible via a private, members-only elevator within Cattlemen’s Steakhouse.

Cattlemen’s Club brings an exclusive, members-only dining and social club with a 130-person seating capacity to The Stockyards. It was promoted in early June, when Taylor Sheridan finally revealed his ownership of the historic venue.

His smash hit Landman, which is filmed in and around Fort Worth, features the city as the home of M-Tex Oil. Fort Worth is enjoying its star turn and being celebrated as a worthy backdrop for film productions. So, it was only a matter of time that Cattlemen’s became a central feature.

Membership has its privileges at Cattlemen’s Club: “Individual memberships are priced at $3,000, with a one-time initiation fee of $1,000. Corporate memberships, which include up to four memberships, are $9,000 annually with a $1,000 initiation fee. Additional corporate memberships are priced at $2,000 each annually.” It’s a key component of the multi-phase, multimillion-dollar enhancements to Cattlemen’s Steakhouse.

Our recent tour of the space revealed a dramatic full bar and an open kitchen, with various cozy seating options for dining and lounging with cocktails. You enter the host stand by a wall of steak knives (all of which were featured in Landman). Warm woods blend with leathers and hides. The basement level space has naturally low ceilings and Western artworks, and an intimate feel.

The Patio Courtyard Adds Ambience

Another brand-new space has been added as well. The patio courtyard with a view of the original signage and Western façade of the restaurant is still intact. It comes complete with its own bar and stone fire pit.

It has a covered area with windows to the bustling sidewalks (giving passersby a glimpse inside), with added flat screens for sports viewing. A live music stage is situated at one end, adding to the atmosphere.

There is also a covered wagon on the patio that has been transformed into a tiny dining room of its own. It was featured on the set of 1883, another Taylor Sheridan hit show, which was filmed locally. The patio adds a total of 20,723 square feet.

Elevated Dining Experience & Improved Menu Items

Executive Chef Theodore Tom has taken the lead at Cattlemen’s and the new Cattlemen’s Club. He arrived from the SW Steakhouse at the Wynn Las Vegas and has already made a few updates to the menu.

The Lonestar Crab Cake has gotten an upgrade by Chef Tom. It is a hearty blue lump crab beauty plated in a pool of remoulade and topped with pickled Fresno chilis. This version is light and showcases the fresh crab meat. The Iceberg Wedge salad has also been upgraded. Draped in creamy housemade blue cheese dressing and studded with fresh tomato and chopped bacon, it’s a classic steakhouse side.

The bread pudding has also been transformed recently, topped with cinnamon pecans and piped cinnamon whipped cream.

Beef From Taylor Sheridan’s Ranches

Sheridan’s Four Sixes Ranch and Bosque Ranch beef are also showcased prominently. Among the USDA Prime steaks and chops, they are all sourced from one of his ranches. And, one non-steak entrée is the Bosque Ranch Wagyu Beef Bolognese.

Under the Black Angus Choice selection, I sampled the Trail Boss Favorite Ribeye, which is a Bosque Ranch steak. It was served alongside Cattlemen’s famous fluffy, salt-crusted baked potatoes. If you’re going to invest your carbs in a potato, you cannot beat this one.

So, for Cattlemen’s Club members, fans of Landman, live music lovers, and classic steakhouse diners ― Cattlemen’s Steakhouse hits all the right notes. With its stylish makeover and exclusive private club addition, it’s now a film location as well.
