As fall sweeps in, Bowie House welcomes its newest retailer in residence, while Sundance Square brings a bohemian Western hat designer to town. Plus, a truly bespoke clothing experience in menswear, and one of Fort Worth’s longtime favorites, continues to modernize and reinvent vintage furs. Cooler weather is coming soon, after all. Here are four new and custom brands to put on your radar this fall: Lela Rose, AB.LINO, Waring Tuxedo, and  Toccoa Goods.

Lela Rose

Lela Rose Ranch Bowie House
Lela Rose Ranch rides into Fort Worth’s Bowie House by Auberge Resort.

After an extended run as the pop-up retailer inside Bowie House, Fort Worth’s one-of-a-kind modern Western store, Chieffalo Americana has returned to its main location a bit further down the brick of Camp Bowie. Next up for the lobby retail space is Lela Rose. The New York City-based, Dallas-born designer is known for dressing the likes of Anne Hathaway, Uma Thurman, and Jessica Alba.

She has two locations currently ― one in Dallas’ Highland Park Village and another in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Rose is known for everything from modern, stylish separates to occasion dressing and her Lela Rose Bridal (located in NYC).

For the Fort Worth (Bowie House) location, Lela Rose is bringing a curated mix, with an emphasis on Western styling (much like her selection in Jackson Hole) ― including Lela Rose Ranch.

The designs blend modern silhouettes with heirloom-quality materials, many featuring intricate embroidery and cording, plus unexpected bold prints. The style is upscale, and a cut (way above) modern Western. Think crisp poplin, feminine tuile, sequin detailing, and structured velvets.

AB.LINO

AB.LINO – Custom hat bar now open in Sundance Square.

Now we turn from high country styling to a more bohemian Western brand. Sundance Square welcomes AB.LINO customized hat bar. The brand’s original location is in Dallas’ West Village on McKinney Avenue. Last spring AB.LINO took its show on the road from Coachella and Round Top to Stagecoach during festival season. Now AB.LINO is bringing its bohemian style to Fort Worth.

You’ll find custom hats, boots, jewelry, vintage denim, plus leather branding. The new showroom is at 333 Houston Street, the spot that was previously inhabited by HerStory Gallery.

AB.LINO brings elevated fashion and custom design together in one creative space,” according to Downtown Fort Worth Inc. “Personalize hats, add embroidery to your favorite pieces, or shop a curated mix of denim, accessories, and more. With its signature hat bar, stylish interiors, and refreshment counter, AB.LINO is more than a store, it’s a space to hang out, create, and make it yours.”

Waring Tuxedos

Waring Tuxedo - Houstoun Waring
Waring Tuxedo – Houstoun Waring has achieved a special men’s shop on Camp Bowie.

Houstoun Waring opened his Waring Tuxedo recently at 4709 Camp Bowie Boulevard. That’s the historic Original Mexican space that has been completely reimagined. His swanky shop is dressed in hunter green and lined with cherry wood wardrobes. Here, he specializes in men’s formal wear and custom suiting. Plus, stylish and unique accessories.

With an in-house tailor and plenty of stock on site, Waring can accommodate same-day tuxedo rentals. But that’s only the beginning.

“Waring Tuxedos’ custom offerings include suits, sport coats, trousers, and shirts in addition to formal wear,” Houstoun Waring says.

Waring streamlines the custom process, picking out the perfect fabrics and buttons and tailoring each piece to fit the client. Accessories include Fox Umbrellas made in England, snappy silver belt buckles made in Massachusetts (a special Waring Collection Monogrammed Belt Buckle), and stylish luggage by Ghurka.

“At Waring Tuxedos, our offerings are personally selected by Houstoun Waring to reflect the best in classic taste and style,” they say. “From our premium rental options to custom clothing, fine neckwear, English footwear, and luxury luggage, our goal is to provide the best merchandise we can in our welcoming and elegantly appointed shop.”

TOCCOA Goods

Toccoa - Reimagines vintage furs for a new generation.
Toccoa – Reimagines vintage furs for a new generation.

TOCCOA gives pre-owned, vintage furs new life. Furs are relined in unique silk and satin prints. The result, they say, is a truly one-of-a-kind garment. The showroom is now open by appointment. It’s located at 6040 Camp Bowie Boulevard, Suite 62. That’s near Archie’s Gardenland and Fred’s Texas.

“By preserving these vintage furs, you are also allowing them to be passed down to the next generation, sharing their beauty and sentimental value for years to come,” says Founder Stephanie Roehm.

The current collection features an autumn haze mink stole lined in silk fabric, with a funky design inspired by Benjamin Franklin blowing bubble gum. Another stunner is the vintage ranch mink Gucci jacket with a fox fur collar lined with teal TOCCOA flower bomb silk fabric. Or the 1950s-style wrap collar of a rare blonde mink cropped coat with Versace crystal accent buttons.

TOCCOA Goods sources vintage furs for sustainability. The pieces are “thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and finished with glazing to ensure the fur looks better than new.”

Do you have your own vintage fur you’d like to update? Roehm and her staff of skilled seamstresses are ready to help you “TOCCOA-fy” it with a custom design, making your heirloom one to treasure.

Wardrobe updates abound this fall, with new retailers and custom options all around Fort Worth.
