This remains one of the best izakaya (Japanese small plates) and ramen restaurants in the area. Perched on the second floor, Wabi House makes the most of its covered patio, complete with a full bar, dominating happy hour at the corner of Magnolia Avenue. Order an array of fun sharables, from simple edamame to traditional bar bites like karage (fried chicken), gyoza (filled dumplings), and tako yaki (octopus fritters) or yakitori (marinated skewered meats). Wash it down with Japanese-inspired cocktails, beers, or sake.

Freeplay Arcade

Freeplay is a throwback arcade with a killer rooftop bar.

One of Fort Worth’s coolest hangouts is located at 1311 Lipscomb in the Near Southside. As the name implies, Freeplay is an old-school arcade for adults. Along with your favorites like Frogger, Space Invaders, and pinball, you can enjoy the large rooftop deck with a great view of downtown, plus a rotating collection of beers, ciders, and cocktails. Nibbles include Naan bread pizzas, and some silly good sandwiches too.

Atico

Overlooking downtown and The Stockyards Atico remains unique with its Spanish Tapas menu.

This rare Spanish tapas spot was opened in January 2020 by chef Tim Love atop the SpringHill Suites overlooking the Stockyards. At “the attic” you’ll enjoy a relaxed ambience, along with a true taste of Barcelona’s bar scene. You’ll be tempted by everything on the menu. That’s why you bring friends. Smoked trout dip with cured lemon zest, joins Catalan-style flatbread pizzas, and Iberico Secreto ham is served alongside chimichurri and piri piri sauces. Enjoy an expertly crafted cocktail and a sunset view at one of Fort Worth’s best rooftop bars and restaurants.

Quince second story dining and patio
Quince makes the most of its riverside location with its second story dining and patio.

Nestled by the river in WestBend, this one made our list of Fort Worth’s 25 Best Patios as well. But the view hits a bit differently from its second-story patio. Originating in San Miguel de Allende, Quince earned the title of the No. 1 Rooftop Restaurant in the World in 2020. Now it has locations in Fort Worth, Austin as well. Warmer months call for a frozen drink, and this is where you’ll find a great selection, including the purple-tinted Horned Frog Mojito.
