Taylor Sheridan is a writer, director, a cutting horse competitor, and a rancher. And now, along with his partners David Glasser and Dan Schryer, Taylor Sheridan can add restaurateur to his resume, with the official news of their ownership of Cattlemen’s Steak House. The legendary steak house has held court in The Fort Worth Stockyards since 1947.
Taylor Sheridan is the creator of smash-hit television series like Yellowstone and Landman, just to mention two titles from the ever-expanding Sheridan-verse. He’s known to locals for championing our local film industry and choosing to feature Fort Worth locations so prominently in his work.
We knew he had something to do with the multi-million dollar upgrades to Fort Worth’s legendary Cattlemen’s Steak House. Steak sourced from his Four Sixes Ranch was previously added to the menu. Sheridan’s purchase of the historic Four Sixes Ranch has made him the ninth-largest landowner in the State of Texas. The ranch’s prime and USDA grade beef is currently being served at not only Cattlemen’s Steak House, but also at Bowie House, Auberge Resorts Collection, and in Las Vegas at SW Steakhouse, the signature premier steakhouse at the Wynn Hotel and Resort.
Today’s release verifies the purchase of this iconic restaurant, Cattlemen’s Steak House, which opened in what was a much dustier setting back in 1947. 78 years later, it remains at the center of the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
Upgrades That Remain True To Cattlemen’s Steak House and Fort Worth’s Cattle Culture

“Sheridan plans to remain true to the owners, Marti Taylor and Larry Heppe’s vision of honoring the tradition established by its founders Jesse and Mozelle Roach,” the release promises.
“Marti Taylor and Larry Heppe will remain as part-owners. While enhancements are being implemented, Sheridan and his partners’ goal is to maintain the core essence of the menu and preserve the time-honored concept’s much-loved guest experience that made it iconic.”
The revamped space is just way more attractive now, and news of a special members-only club component will make Cattlemen’s an even bigger draw.
“Fort Worth is a vital city to both our state and our nation. It is where the West begins and where the cattle business was born,” Taylor Sheridan says. “It is deserving of a gathering place for those who both shaped this city’s past and guide its future — where friendships can be fostered and formed, and the very best of this city can be celebrated.”
Fort Worth is, after all, a country club town at heart. We like to go to the places where everybody knows our name, the wait staff knows how we like our steak prepared, and we can count on a “country club pour”.
The Cattlemen’s Club will bring a bit of that kind of service to The Stockyards, which is now one of the top tourist attractions in the entire state, just brimming with real cattlemen and women, and the storied ranches they represent.
Cattlemen’s Club ― A New Exclusive Space At Cattlemen’s Steak House

Cattlemen’s Club will be an exclusive, members-only dining and social club with a 130-person seating capacity. It will open in the Summer of 2025.
“Sheridan formed SGS Holdings Group in partnership with David Glasser and Dan Schryer to explore opportunities in western lifestyle and has additional ventures in the works in Fort Worth and beyond,” they say. “His new partnership’s further investment within hospitality was the next natural step.”
Cattlemen’s Club is offering a limited number of memberships, “providing locals with prime access to one of the city’s most historic and treasured addresses at Exchange Avenue and Main Street, the social hub where business and leisure blend. Cattlemen’s Club will now be perfectly situated near major attractions, hotels, the stockyard exchange, and multiple live entertainment venues.”
The exclusive new club will be accessible via a private, members-only elevator within Cattlemen’s Steakhouse.
The design was in part the handiwork of Tyler Duncan, design principal of Duncan Design Group, a Grapevine-based design firm. It blends the frontier spirit with bold, modern Western elements:
Copper bar tops, and cowhide back bar stools
Rich scent of tufted leather upholstery
Warm hickory woods
Genuine leather furnishings in flaming red and deep burgundy
Ambient lighting is reminiscent of vintage fixtures
Wooden beams overhead and wood flooring under your boots
Patio courtyard complete with bar and stone fire pit
“The goal was to create a space that feels both grounded and elevated,” Tyler Duncan explains. “We drew inspiration from the raw beauty of Western aesthetic, pairing natural textures with bespoke craftsmanship to create an atmosphere that is warm, intimate, and undeniably luxurious.”
The patio features ample seating for outdoor music performances, which will include top-tier artists, curated by Sheridan and his partners, plus a large screen for sports viewing.

Taylor Sheridan’s Team Is Still Polishing Cattlemen’s Steak House Like a New Penny
Cattlemen’s Club will be an exclusive hangout for members only.
The Stockyards area continues to grow. Fort Worth City Council has paved the way for a $630-billion second phase of development by Stockyard’s Heritage, which will hopefully remain on track, pending the leadership transition at Majestic Realty, according to Bob Francis for KERA News. The project will bring a 500-room hotel, a multifamily property, and two underground parking lots by 2032. So another vast expansion of the area remains on the horizon.
The investment in Cattlemen’s Steak House and its new Cattlemen’s Club seem perfectly positioned for the coming decades. The multi-phase, multimillion-dollar renovation of Cattlemen’s Steak House is still a work in progress.
“Plans are to augment food and wine offerings and the existing team, which includes a standout, William Ford, fan-favorite head broiler, who has worked at the restaurant for 45 years,” they say.
More upgrades will include additional dining, bar, and event spaces, which will be constructed, including an outdoor patio with a live music stage encompassing a total of 20,723 square feet.
“During its renovation phases, Cattlemen’s Steak House has remained open to the public and maintained its team,” according to the release. “As a thank you to patrons, they have been offering one complimentary dinner each week to a family that posts a video of a recent visit, a practice they will continue throughout the completion of construction.”
The famous, historic steakhouse steps into a new era with its swanky makeover and exclusive club addition.
