There’s always something new being added to the local food scene. We have word of two new Vietnamese joints, plus hip hop royalty rolls into Race Street with an equally impressive menu in this edition of More Fort Worth Food News for July 2025.

Ms. Saigon Reopens Adding A Wide Range of Southeast Asian Specialties

Ms. Saigon now serves Vietnamese, Lao and Thai specialties.

Now under new ownership Ms. Saigon at 242 Rufe Snow Drive in Keller, will now include a taste of Southeast Asia, not only Vietnamese, but also Thai and Lao dishes. Tony and Saykham Thepvongsa aren’t changing the name, just expanding its menu.

According to reporting by the City of Keller, Tony Thepvongsa says, “Growing up as a kid in Arkansas, I worked in my parents’ restaurant. They were Laotian refugees, and I did everything from wash dishes to serve up front and help them translate paperwork.”

His wife is Laotian-born Saykham who will bring her family traditions as well as knowledge of Thai cuisine to the venture. They also own Pho Vieng in Haltom City. The grand reopening of Ms. Saigon took place on Friday, July 11.

Willow Park Welcomes The Holic Pho To Town

The Holic Pho is now in Willow Park near Railhead Barbecue.

With its first location, Phoenix Pho, opening in 2020 in Abilene, it’s second outpost is now open at 108 South Ranch House Road, Suite 13001, just across the parking lot from Rail Head Barbecue in Willow Park. It has a bright new space with patio dining and serves up fresh Vietnamese and bobo tea creations.

The Holic Pho serves a variety of pho ranging from beef broth based short rib, meat ball, brisket and Tai with rare steak, to chicken based broth filled with chicken, shrimp or seafood. Cool off with a vermicelli salad bowl or dive into a jasmine rice based meal topped with yellow coconut curry chicken, or your choice of grilled meat, or have it shaken with onions.

There are a few vegetarian dishes on the menu as well. The Holic Pho has a full boba tea menu too ― featuring fruit teas like the lemonade strawberry basil or honeydew milk tea. Or choose a fresh smoothie like the coconut coffee or matcha.

Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles Flies Over To Race Street

Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles has set its grand opening for July 22 at 2707 Race St. #117, and it’s arrival is getting a lot of buzz in Fort Worth.

According to Texas Is Life, “Created by reality TV star Crystal Smith with her ex-husband and R&B artist Ne-Yo, and Karlie Redd of Love & Hip Hop fame, Johnny’s first began in the Atlanta area in 2020. After a successful Dallas debut in 2024, Fort Worth became the next city to plant a new restaurant.”

“Guests choose their protein from whole wings, buttermilk chicken tenders, two-piece fried chicken, four-piece fried chicken, or buffalo wings,” they say. “Choose from waffles like buttermilk, red velvet, pecan, strawberry, strawberry shortcake, and oreo.”

They menu includes other decadent dishes like lobster mac and cheese, shrimp and grits, and catfish and chips. With its hip hop vibe and a full bar serving espresso martinis and mimosas Johnny’s was simply made for brunching.

Dayne’s Craft Barbecue is featuring peach cobbler burnt ends and a peach cobbler old fashioned at the bar.

Curly’s Frozen Custard (one of the 10 Top Ice Cream Shops in Fort Worth) still has its famous July custard on the menu ― Parker County Peach.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar is going all in with its Peach Cobbler French Toast topped with stewed peaches.

Pantry On Magnolia is still serving its Smoked Peach Cobbler for a limited time.

The Sour Boule on Benbrook Traffic Circle has created the Peach Skillet, featuring a fresh Parker County Peach baked and topped with caramel drizzle.
