Get ready for even more Fort Worth Food News as old favorites get major refreshes, and big names join forces. These new entries run the gamut from stand-alone burgers to great steaks and from taquerias to taverns.

NADC Burger Arrives

Phillip Frankland Lee and Neen Williams have brought their cult-favorite NADC Burger to town, (the acronym stands for not a damn chance). It’s at 604 Main Street, Suite 100, downtown ― that’s the former Meso Maya Comida y Copas space inside the historic Kress Building. It’s the first North Texas location for this upstart burger fantasy, with four locations in Austin, including its original location, one in Denver, and another in Chicago.

This is a collaboration between Lee, a Michelin-star chef, and Williams, a professional skateboarder, who set out to craft the perfect burger. Lee won his first Michelin star for his Encino, California-based Pasta | Bar and he’s also behind the acclaimed Sushi by Scratch omakase restaurants with 12 current locations, including one in both Austin and Dallas.

To call it a limited menu at NADC, doesn’t go quite far enough. You have precisely one option. The NADC Burger is a six-ounce, Texas-raised (sourced from RC Ranch) wagyu cheeseburger, topped with American cheese, secret sauce, onions, and ‘tamed’ (rumor has it, vodka-soaked) jalapenos, and pickles on a toasted bun for $16. Your fries can be ordered plain or in ‘beast mode’ with cheese, pickles, diced jalapenos, and special sauce.

Multi-Million Dollar Refresh at Cattleman’s

Cattleman's Steak House
Cattleman’s Steak House is ready for its big reveal.

Cattleman’s Steak House has stood the test of time in the Fort Worth Stockyards, with its famous signage featuring incandescent bulbs rather than neon. It began serving steaks in 1947, but felt it was time for a major refresh of the legendary steak house. Texas Monthly reported that Taylor Sheridan was part of the ownership team, from an update in February of 2024. Further proof of Sheridan’s influence can be on the menu, where his Four 6666 Ranch now supplies the prime steaks, and Yellowstone-branded wines are prominent on the wine list.

Recently completed construction has put a fresh face on the eatery, featuring new barstools upholstered in cowhide, with fresh tiles underfoot, and comfy banquette seating with tufted leather. According to reporting by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, $ 3 million was invested in the dining room makeover, “including a new outdoor patio and construction of an elevator and chair lift,” plus another $ 2 million to update the basement level.

Shogun Taqueria Mixes It Up

Shogun Taqueria - chicken pozole shio ramen
Shogun Taqueria promises an interesting fusion, like its chicken pozole shio ramen.

Paco’s Mexican owner Francisco Islas is taking his dishes in a new direction. After Paco’s closed its spot at 1508 West Magnolia recently (its Sundance location with its fabulous patio remains), ideas began to swirl, taking adventurous foodies along for the ride.

Opening by the end of March, Shogun Taqueria promises a Japanese Mexican fusion menu. How about Tinga-filled Gyoza or Tonkatsu con Mole? Why not, I say. They just revealed their three ramen varieties online ― one with a spicy birra and miso broth, a 12-hour pork broth-infused tonkatsu-topped ramen, and a traditional pozole-inspired chicken pozole shio ramen, studded with hominy corn.

Sweet Paris Creperie & Cafe in Southlake

Sweet Paris Southlake
Sweet Paris adds a touch of Paris to Southlake.

Serving sweet and savory crepes, paninis, waffles and more, Sweet Paris Creperie & Café is a new taste of the Parisian café scene. New seasonal crepes include the Chicken Pesto with grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, pesto sauce, red bell peppers, olives, and mozzarella, in a spinach-infused crêpe, or the Very Berry Creme Brulée filled with strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, toasted almonds, creme brulée, and a strawberry coulis.

Morton’s Tavern Takes Over

Morton's Tavern
Morton’s Tavern adds new sports bar to Southside.

Southside’s former Twilite Lounge located at 212 Lipscomb Street has transformed. Morton’s Tavern is now a sports bar theme with 20 flat screens installed to take in March Madness, plus a cozy patio to enjoy. The food is provided by Jes Crave food truck featuring birra tacos, elote, burgers, quesadillas and tacos.
