Fort Worthians can’t wait to dine outdoors in the spring and the fall. After all, patio weather fades fast in these parts. Here is a stellar list of some of the best patio dining to be enjoyed around town. These are Fort Worth’s 25 best patios.
Crystal Springs Hideaway provides a shade respite in The River District.
The newest River District hangout is packing them in these days. Its shady beer and wine garden is ideal for noshing on Big Kat burgers or exploring a cheese and charcuterie tray prepared on-site. JD and Shanna Granger’s epic hideaway is tucked beneath majestic cottonwood trees in a neighborhood that made Western Swing famous.
Terry Black’s Barbecue is ready to welcome you to their patio and smokehouse.
Another new entry to the local landscape brings a smoked meats paradise from South Texas to life in Fort Worth. Grab a patio seat under a yellow umbrella and a tray of your favorite cue along West Seventh Street. The bonus is the never-ending smell of smoked meats wafting from the smokehouse ― which guests are welcome to tour. The friendly pitmasters are happy to show you what they are putting on and answer your questions.
Magnolia’s favorite patio serves cold beer and stylish cocktails, like one of their ‘patio punches’ named Ginifer Aniston. It’s made with gin, Aperol, lemon, grapefruit, cranberry, and passionfruit. The simple, snackable, and shareable menu is perfect for a lazy brunch or late night catch-up.
The Bearded Lady serves gourmet pub food on its expansive patio.
This one has been a favorite since 2013, first on Magnolia, now located at 300 South Main Street. They serve scratch-made, gourmet pub food, plus a wide array of local and national craft beers on their dog-friendly patio. Beards optional.
Paloma Suerte backs up to Marine Creek in Mule Alley.
Tim Love’s Mexican joint in Mule Alley is lovely inside, but its patio wraps around to Marine Creek (as does his Lonesome Dove Western Bistro). Paloma Suerte gives off a thoroughly San Antonio Riverwalk vibe. Colorful streamers hang from a giant central live oak tree, and the fresh-squeezed margaritas make patio season special.

Located in a prime spot at The Shops at Clearfork, B&B’s patio holds court, overlooking the stained glass windmill and turf lawn. Brunch is otherworldly, and happy hour is a must, hidden under shady red umbrellas.
Wild Acre Restaurant & Beer Garden is a family friendly playground.
With its massive lawn topped by twinkle lights and a covered patio alongside, Wild Acre is a family friendly playground, serving local beer. Meet your friends and bring the kids while you dine on upscale pub grub, sample some beer, and play with pedal karts, lawn games, or kick back in lounge chairs.
The Magnolia Wine Bar is calling you for happy hour or any hour.
Look for the mural of magnolias painted on the brick walls surrounding this Magnolia Avenue escape. Explore the wines from bubbles to dessert wines, along with upscale sharable plates like the baked goat cheese or the blackened smoked salmon board.
Water’s is one of downtown’s most coveted and shady patios.
This is Jon Bonnell’s ode to coastal cuisine, and it’s long been one of Fort Worth’s top seafood spots. It’s patio makes for a refreshing downtown retreat. The stylish menu includes lump crab cakes, crispy fried oysters Texafeller, and a range of dishes from redfish fish and chips to elegant Atlantic char.
Rogers Roundhouse is an open air paradise on Rogers Road.
This American style beer garden is flanked by painted shipping containers and located next to one of the busiest railyards in the area. Split an order of Frog Fries topped with ground Wagyu beef and order a cold schooner of beer at this open-air hangout.
At Gemelle, you can explore the raised gardens, relax in cabana luxury, or play a round of bocce.
The Italian oasis with its sunken Positano-style gardens in the River District is one of Fort Worth’s most coveted backyard scenes. Hotel Otto’s container pool just adds to the ambience, and the food and drink create an Italian fantasy equal to its setting.
Courtside Kitchen affords a wide array of activity levels, and a great menu too.
This is a premier pickleball and dining destination, featuring craft cocktails and ample entertainment. Order a bucket beer, hit the court, or laze away the hours nibbling on poke bowls or street tacos, taking in the hive of activity.
Overlooking Sundance Square, Paco’s serves some serious Mexican food. Fresh cocktails and margaritas, with authentic tacos, tamales, and fantastic birra ramen await. The expansive view of the fountains and weekend music add to its allure.
Just one section of the massive riverside patio at HG Sply Co.
Located in WestBend, perched overlooking the Trinity River, HG Sply Co. offers clean dining and excellent views. The menu breaks down every item by fat, protein, carbs, and calories, so diners can make the best choice for their dietary needs.
Piatello makes the most of its Waterside patio view.
With its shady view to the central lawn and stage at Waterside, Piatello is seasonless. The concept by chef Marcus Paslay is fresh, handmade Italian, including pastas and wood-fired pizzas. This patio makes the most of its prime location.
61 Osteria unfolds a dramatic city-scape in downtown Fort Worth.
Owner Adam Jones and his chef Blaine Staniford added to their downtown street cred with 61 Osteria (the duo also has Grace and Little Red Wasp). The scratch-made Italian menu will transport you, and the gorgeous layout includes a patio with views to Burnett Park, graced by Noguchi granite sculptures.
Saddlerock Wine & Beer Co. is a lavish oasis in downtown Fort Worth. (Photo by Courtney Dabney)
This wine haven is located in a completely restored estate along Samuels Avenue, and its expansive lawns and patios pack a punch. Sip and sample Semler Estate and Saddlerock wines, which hail from Malibu, California. The setting is stylish and serene.
Press Cafe has an enviable location just off the Trinity Trails.
With its prime riverfront landscape, Press has long been the go-to for patio dining in town. Chef Felipe Armenta’s dream of an eatery just off the Trinity Trails has become a reality, and although the patio is open year round, during peak season, you’ll find a crowd.
Woodshed Smokehouse in an open air sanctuary along the Trinity Trails.
Located along Riverfront Drive, Tim Love has been serving up his style of ‘New Cue’ on the patio since 2012. Fronted by the Trinity River, guests arrive via the Trinity Trails as well as the parking lot.
No one can match the patio atmosphere of Joe T. Garcia’s in Fort Worth.
At 90 years young, this eatery is quintessential Fort Worth. The gardens and patios seem to stretch on forever, and that’s by design, as the Lancarte family has been adding new elements every year for decades now. Joe T’s ‘family dinner’ is what every local craves.
You notice that “& Garden” is in the title here. The Albanese family has been serving up some excellent Italian for years, but the quaint cottage with its covered back patio is a showstopper. It’s romantic and the ideal backdrop for a party.
Zoli’s has solid pizza and a fun-filled patio and yard.
Another family-friendly dining experience is located along Hulen Street. The interesting architecture of the tin-clad Quonset hut gives way to a back patio and lawn filled with wonders. They serve sandwiches and pastas too, but pizza is the star of the show.
Quince Riverside is one of Fort Worth’s most stunning patios.
Perched overlooking the Trinity River in WestBend, Quince serves up some epic riverfront views, along with some interesting and globally inspired menus. From Peruvian ceviche to yakimeshi and sushi, it’s a fabulous riverside experience.
Heim will extend its patio seating to the Backyard on April 1.
One of Fort Worth’s favorite barbecue joints has multiple locations, but its expansive deck is a shoulder season draw. As of April 1, it will open its much-anticipated Backyard space to the public, adding coveted green space to its fabulous patio deck and making the most of its prime location.
Rise Souffle in Clearfork delivers a European patio experience.
Clearfork’s quaint souffle stop is wrapped by a Parisian-style patio ― complete with café chairs. When the weather is nice, it becomes an open-air reminder of European dining experiences. The souffles alone are worth the trip, in savory and sweet options.
Now’s the time to get out there and enjoy. This perfect weather won’t last for long.
