This month, all eyes turn to the Southside, where there is plenty of new energy to report, from fusion and Roman-style pizza to coffee, wine, and cocktails galore. But, there is big news in Southlake, too, plus a couple of sad closures to report. This is your Fort Worth food news for December 2025.
Felina brings thin crust Roman style pizza to town.
Chef Alessandro Salvatore opened Bocca Osteria Romana in South Main Village. Now he’s launching a new pizza concept at 411 South Main Street. The new 4,6000 square foot restaurant will be turning out Roman-style pizzas (which are thin, cracker-crust creations). Salvatore is cranking up his pizza ovens with a few pop-ups prior to opening. He held the first one on December 4. “Very soon, we’ll be serving pizza tonda Romana — thin, crispy, and true to Rome. A new chapter, same heart,” he said in a recent Instagram post.
Brooklyn’s opens this week in the former Tre Mogli space.
Tre Mogli, the Italian spot, didn’t last long at 401 South Main Street, but left behind a lovely two-story space. Now it is home to Brooklyn’s ― an eclectic global/fusion concept. After a brief soft-opening, they announced they’ll be open for full service beginning Thursday, December 9. “We are still working hard on the upstairs construction, but we’re ready to get the ball rolling downstairs and show off the space we’ve built for you,” they say in a Facebook post.
Shrimp scampi and sliced steaks are all we know so far about the main menu. On the to-go menu, you’ll find handhelds from wraps and hoagies to rolls and quesadillas, plus pizzas, including the interesting beef bulgogi on naan bread.
Chill Coffee and Wine Bar will inhabit the former Coupe space on South Main.
South Main Village will add a new coffee and wine bar where The Coupe was at 314 South Main Street. The Coupe bubble bar opened in the summer of 2023 and closed earlier this year. This will be the second location for Chill, with its original in Arlington. They serve charcuterie boards, pastries, and gourmet sandwiches, with coffee and tea joining wine and mimosas.
The owner and chef of Shogun Taqueria on Magnolia Avenue has added a speakeasy to the equation. “Hidden inside Shogun Taqueria, Secreto is Fort Worth’s newest speakeasy — where craft cocktails, good music, and great company meet,” they say. It’s located at 1500 West Magnolia Avenue, the former home of Islas Tropicals (where Paco Islas introduced classic Mexico City mangonadas and such).
Acquario Pizza and Pasta Bar is opening mid-January in Keller.
One of Keller’s favorites is launching a new concept soon. Acquario Pizza and Pasta Bar will open mid-January at 967 Keller Parkway. Expect wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta on the menu. Pasta has been a perennial favorite of the original location of Acquario, but pizza is not on that menu.
One of Dallas’ best steakhouses is opening mid-2026 at 1901 West Kirkwood Boulevard. It opened its doors in 1984 in downtown Dallas and has been a go-to ever since. This will bring more prime steaks, fresh seafood, and seasonal fare to Southlake. Think raw bar with seafood platters, crab cake lollipops, Beef Wellington, and Maine lobster, along with delicious steaks.
From fluffy pastries to full Indian meals, India Today Bakery is ready for chai tea runs and café hangout sessions. The new all-day spot promises big flavors and warm vibes with everything freshly made. They specialize in Indian desserts and special occasion custom cakes.
Uncle Julio’s is back in business after a major remodel.
After a brief closure for a much-needed remodel, which sent loyal customers into a frenzy speculating its demise, Uncle Julio’s is back in business. Calm down, people. It officially reopened on November 25, promising a refreshed look and an improved menu. Star Telegram reports it was a $1-million overhaul for the well-worn, 37-year-old Camp Bowie mainstay.
Closures to Know

According to Southlake Style, “it’s the end of an era in Southlake Town Square” as Corner Bakery has closed after 26 years. Having debuted as one of the very first restaurants there in 1999, it quickly became a neighborhood staple. “Its closure is part of a nationwide downsizing following Corner Bakery’s corporate restructuring,” they say. No word yet on what will fill the space.
Neighbor’s House Grocery has closed at the base of First on 7th (it’s nearby neighbors included Buon Giorno Coffee and 61 Osteria). The last day for the custom sandwich shop and downtown grocery carrying staples and foodie finds was the end of October. It closed after a six-year run.
