Landman season two premieres on Paramount+ on November 16. Fort Worth film buffs were treated to a red carpet event with the stars. Plus, a preview of the highly anticipated series, hosted by the Fort Worth Film Commission. Locals can’t wait to see recognizable film locations on the small screen, as much of the Landman series is filmed in and around Fort Worth.
Billy Bob Thornton and much of the cast attended a Fort Worth screening of Landman season two. The red carpet event was followed by a post-show panel discussion with the stars. The event was held during the Lone Star Film Festival. The screening took place on November 6 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Cast members Billy Bob Thornton, Sam Elliott, Paulina Chávez, and Michelle Randolph, along with Christian Wallace, the show’s executive producer/co-creator/co-writer, and Producer David Glasser, were on hand in Fort Worth.

Landman drew 35 million global streaming viewers for its season one premiere episode. The show set records for Paramount+, including becoming the network’s No.1 original series ever on the service.
Who would have thought the story about a rough and tumble landman trudging around Midland, fighting cartels in between cigarettes, would have drawn such a crowd? Well, Billy Bob Thornton for one. He scored a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Landman, playing Tommy Norris.
Co-creator Taylor Sheridan has made long-term plans to continue filming in his hometown, with a new production campus in Alliance. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
Landman Season Two Cast and Synopsis

Landman stars Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton, Oscar-nominee Demi Moore, Oscar-nominee Andy Garcia, Oscar-nominee Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore. Jon Hamm’s character, Monty Miller, didn’t make it to season two, but his loss will be a big part of the drama going forward.
In Landman, Fort Worth sites stand in for the boomtowns of West Texas, where the show does its drilling. The MonTex Oil Company is based in Fort Worth ― which is not a stretch, as it has long been a hub for oil and gas exploration.
“In season two, as oil rises from the earth, so do secrets ― and Tommy Norris’s (Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes,” according to a release. “Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble ― it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break.” That’s the set-up.
Spotting Fort Worth Film Locales

Fort Worthians love the show for another reason. It’s fun to spot Fort Worth landmarks and filming locations as they are revealed in each episode. Based on the stills released to the media so far, we have spotted a few.
You’ll see Sam Elliot and Billy Bob Thornton belly up to the newly designed bar at Taylor Sheridan-owned Cattleman’s Steakhouse. Michelle Randolph and Ali Larter take a stroll across campus at TCU. Sam Elliot and Ali Larter two-step on the dancefloor at Tim Love’s White Elephant Saloon. Demi Moore and Billy Bob Thornton meet inside Frost Tower, and Demi’s character Cami visits her husband’s graveside, likely at Greenwood Cemetery.
Of course, The Patch Café on Camp Bowie West saw filming, as did downtown Fort Worth, and The Stockyards. We can’t wait to see what other locations we can spot this season.
