Hudson House continues its march across Texas with the opening of its Hudson House Southlake location. The ever-popular East Coast–inspired neighborhood restaurant is bringing cold martinis, top-notch salads, and lobster rolls to Southlake at long last. The opening date for Hudson House Southlake will be Monday, September 14.
Located at 1131 East Southlake Boulevard. This marks the 12th location for Hudson House. Most are spread across Dallas, with one in Fort Worth and two more in Houston. The concept opens No. 12 nearly a decade after the debut of its Highland Park mainstay. Its popularity has never waned.
Hudson House has become “a defining concept within the Vandelay portfolio, earning a loyal following for lunch, brunch, dinner, and its celebrated happy hour,” according to a release.
Inside Southlake’s New Social Butterfly

The new, approximately 5,000-square-foot restaurant in Southlake arrives nearly a year after it was first announced. Its interior design is a riff on Hudson House’s familiar theme. It aligns with Hudson House’s signature warm, welcoming design.
Look for pops of navy in its leather booths and swivel bar chairs surrounding a large wraparound bar. You’ll enjoy a spacious sit-down raw bar as well as an outdoor patio. White shiplap blends with rich wood tones. Shimmery subway-tiled walls and brass hardware, including the cabinetmaker’s picture lighting, attract the eye.
“The space is designed to balance the familiarity of a traditional New England dining institution with the polished, energetic atmosphere that has become synonymous with the Hudson House brand,” they say.
Vandelay Companies continues to identify strong neighborhoods and markets, investing in each restaurant for the long term and building concepts designed to become lasting parts of the communities they serve. Besides Hudson House, Vandelay is behind other concepts including Drake’s Hollywood, Tei-An, Bar Sardine, and Jack & Harry’s.
Hudson House Hospitality & Neighborhood Feel

“Hudson House has exploded because we have remained disciplined about where and how we expand it,” says Hunter Pond, founder and chairman of Vandelay Companies.
“Southlake has the combination of energy, growth, and appreciation for hospitality that we look for when entering a new neighborhood. Our goal is never simply to add another location. We want every Hudson House to feel rooted in its community from the moment it opens and to become the kind of restaurant guests return to week after week.”
Known for its polished interpretation of a classic East Coast neighborhood restaurant, Hudson House combines a seafood-driven menu, expansive raw bar, sushi, signature cocktails, and timeless American favorites, creating a curated and caveable menu.

The vibe includes some of its most beloved dishes. Hudson’s Avocado Dip is made with whipped avocado, green onion, herbs, and ranch chips. The Cheeseburger features thin patties, American cheese slices, pickles, and Hudson’s signature house sauce. The hearty Chicken Parm is served with creamy tomato pasta and Reggiano cheese.
Of course, someone at the table will order a salad, like the Hudson Salad, made with popcorn chicken, avocado, cherry tomato, bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and green goddess dressing.
“Hudson House’s seafood program remains central to the experience, with East Coast oysters flown in daily, a dedicated raw bar, and a sushi menu. The Fort Worth Worth location was on of the first to add sushi selections, and they have been a real hit.
The Sunset Roll includes spicy tuna, cucumber and avocado topped with salmon, lemon and ginger vinaigrette. The rice-less Signature Roll elevates salmon, tuna, crab, avocado, tempura flake and spicy ponzu. And one of my favorites, the Pressed Ahi Tuna Roll, is filled with tuna, spicy tuna, avocado, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and truffle oil.
Now, About the World’s Coldest Martini
Hudson House has mastered the perfect martini.
The beverage program is a defining symbol of Hudson House. Top-notch, icy cold martinis feature Grey Goose vodka served on tap and chilled to a crisp 10 degrees.
Martini selections include The Classic or the amped up Bleu & Gold, made with vodka, olive juice, bleu cheese salt, and house-made bleu cheese olives. The Lemon Drop is finished with limoncello foam, and The Espresso Martini adds espresso, Kahlúa, and Baileys to the shaker.
“Additional cocktail favorites include the Frozen Bellini, Strawberry Spritz, Spicy Mexican, and a classic Manhattan,” they say. As with most Hudson House openings, reservations are a must. You won’t be able to wade through the bar for some time to come.
Hudson House Southlake will open Friday, September 14, at 1131 East Southlake Boulevard.
