Not when there are so many sweet spots to grab a cone or a cup of pure refreshment. Here are the best ice cream shops to try in and around Fort Worth.

One of our local favorites since 2014, there are six locations in Fort Worth and Dallas. Specializing in small batch and natural ingredients, flavors include Salt Lick with buttery caramel and TX Honey Lavender Crunch with housemade honeycomb candy.

Morgan’s Ice Cream

Located in South Main Village, Morgan’s features fresh churned goodness. Famous for flavors like their cinnamon sweet cream called Wookies Cookies, and Raspberry Rocky Road with raspberry jam, oats, and coconut milk. Plus, sprinkles are always free.

Amorino Gelato

This gelato tastes like a stroll in Paris because it’s actually made there. Located in Clearfork, Amorino’s case is filled with a wild array of gelato (like pistachio) and sorbet (like pear hibiscus). In a cone or a cup, pick your top three, and they’ll form it into a flower.

On the bricks of Camp Bowie, Curly’s has held court since 2002. It is a cute little spot with a patio and a drive-thru option. Owned by Westland Hospitality, which recently took the reins of Roy Pope as well. Known for their specialty custard, fun sundaes, and mix-in concretes.

This ice cream empire is prolific and for good reason. They even deliver. Fort Worth has a shop in WestBend. Choose from ice creams like Strawberry Matcha Latte, Honeycomb, and Earl Grey Tea. Van Leewen has vegan varieties, plus ice cream bars and sandwiches.

Located downtown near Sundance Square, you’ll find La’ Creamian at 215 W 8th Street. Their Strawberry Sweet Note is a blend of strawberry and pomegranate, and the signature scoop they call Bourbon Black Chocolate is ribboned with bits of decadent, fudgy brown sugar bourbon brownies.

Located in Burleson, this is our first taste of New Zealand-style ice cream in North Texas. Mr. Henry is different. It blends premium vanilla ice cream with your choice of fruit or topping in special machines to produce a heavenly soft serve.

With many locations dotted around North Texas, choose your shop in North Richland Hills, Hurst, Arlington, or Burleson. Handel’s began scooping in 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio. The local stores have 48 flavors rotating every month, like Pink Lemonade, Caramel Apple, and Blue Moon.
