Fort Worth native Drake Milligan has been on the road a lot this year. Following the release of his first studio album, Dallas/Fort Worth, in 2022, the country singer and songwriter has been in high demand. He released an EP in 2024 that made waves as well. His Jukebox Songs was a hit. Now, Drake Milligan’s second studio album, Tumbleweed, is set to drop on November 7. And yes, a world tour is in the works.
The performer (and Drake Milligan IS a performer) has been headlining his own stops as well as opening for the likes of Lainey Wilson, Blake Shelton, and Luke Bryan throughout 2025. But, somehow, he found time to co-write new music. Eleven of the fourteen tracks on Tumbleweed were co-written with Brandon Hood, Terry McBride, Monty Criswell, andAaron Eshuis.
In advance of the release of Tumbleweed, the title track already made its debut in mid-September, along with “Old Flames, Old Whiskey,” which was just released this October.
His sound has a touch of chameleon to it. The vocals on “Tumbleweed” soar from baritone to solid tenor, while the sincere Texas twang on “Old Flames, Old Whiskey” is as old-school country as it gets. And, of course, he can slide into a very believable Elvis Presley impression at a moment’s notice, too. He’s had a quite a bit of practice there.
Drake Milligan’s Heroes Have Always Been Classic Country Stars

Milligan wants to find a sound that’s timeless and pays homage to the classics. And, he’s blazing a trail to deliver just that. His musical heroes are George Straight, Willie Nelson, and Elvis Presley.
When he was younger, he got so good at his Elvis impersonation that he was a regular act at Elvis festivals, becoming the cute kid in the jumpsuit. He says that’s where he learned to perform. That led to a starring role in the Country Music Television (CMT) series Sun Records in 2017. Sun Records recounted the unplanned session of the so-called “Million Dollar Quartet” that consisted of four fledgling musicians ― Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash. So, chances are good that if you see Drake Milligan in concert, he might treat you to a touch of his alter ego at some point in his set.
Milligan graduated from Mansfield’s Legacy High School and was a finalist on season 17 of America’s Got Talent (AGT). He performed two of his hit songs, “Don’t Leave Me Loving You” and “I Got A Problem” on the first season of America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League. Then, he launched his solo career.

Milligan is back on the road beginning October 24, joining Lainey Wilson in Knoxville, Tennessee. “The Tumbleweed World Tour” will officially kick off at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on Nov. 11. That will also serve as his official album release party.
The tour will include shows including several European dates. This Texas Tumbleweed will blow through Paris and Brussels in March 2026, before heading to the C2C Festival in Rotterdam, and on to stops in Berlin, London, Glasgow, and Belfast.
Milligan will drop by his hometown in the middle of his tour for a concert at Billy Bob’s on November 28. It’s a venue he’s very familiar with, having (he admits) scrubbed that Sharpie “X” off his hand a time or two in his youth. Now he’s the headlining act.
